Fungie fun in dingle
Today we had a free day in Dingle. We slept in a bit and then decided to visit the Dingle Aquarium. We did a little shopping in town and visited St. Mary’s Church to see the Diseart Windows by Harry Clark. Fortified by a yummy lunch and improving weather, we decided to walk out to the lighthouse at the mouth of the harbor. From the beach we spotted the resident dolphin, Fungie, surfacing and playing to the delight of tour boats nearby. After walking back to town, we decided to hike out the other side of town to play at the pitch & putt and putt-putt course. After another walk into town and wandering to find a restaurant that we all liked, and finally we got the chance to sit and enjoy a great meal. Ice cream, again, at the famous Murphy’s. Dingle Sea Salt, Irish Cream Liqeuer, Real Peppermint, Kieran’s Cookies, Irish Brown Bread….so many choices! We walked along the waterfront and took pictures of the gorgeous sunset! Sleep felt wonderful tonight after this long and adventurous day!
LIMERICK OF THE DAY:
A dolphin chose not to roam
Instead he made Dingle his home
There he lives and he plays
Folks love that he stays
With Fungie, they're never alone
