DAy of Music and Scenery
We dropped our laundry off at the local Laundromat and then we were off to tour the Dingle peninsula. Beautiful views along Slea Head Drive and stops at the Gallarus Oratory – a stone beehive hut and other monastic sites. Next, we visited the impressive Blasket Island Memorial Center where we toured on our own and watched and learned about life on the Blasket Islands. We had lunch at the center. Then we headed back to the hotel, gathered our laundry and rested. Then we went and had dinner as a group at the Global Village. After dinner, we went to see a wonderful concert at St. Patrick’s Church. The talented artists entertained us and John took the challenge to dance for a free CD. To see John's brave dance, click here to see a youtube video of it! After, a group of us headed to a pub around the corner to watch a young, local band, Walking On Cars, play in the backyard to a packed, local crowd. It was fun to be part of the local scene.
LIMERICK OF THE DAY:
There once was a young lad named John
Who took a delight in the song
At a concert one night
His feet they took flight
And he danced till the breaking of dawn
