WELCOME TO EUROPE AND WELCOME TO IRELAND!
Arriving a day early, we decided to take the On & Off bus out to the Guiness Storehouse. We learned to pour our own pint and enjoyed the 360-degree view of Dublin from the beautiful top floor Gravity Bar.
Later in the day we met at the Buswell Hotel for our first group meeting. We met our fellow tour mates and selected our buddies for the trip. After getting to make introductions with our group we all head out to The Farm Restaurant on Dawson street for our first group meal!
After finishing a fresh and delicious meal at the restaurant we headed out to do an optional city orientation walk with Barry and Susie! This was lots of fun as we walked to the General Post Office over in the middle of O'Connell's Street. The foundation stone was laid in 1814 and this was the main stronghold of the Irish Volunteers in the 1916 Rising. Then we crossed back over the River Liffey on the Ha'Penny Bridge, which is a famous walking bridge in the heart of Dublin. After this we called it a night, but it was a great first glimpse into the grand adventure that awaited us.
